The application development team supporting the Department of Transportation Money and Work applications is looking to hire a motivated Information Technology professional who can lead technical teams, maintain, and support a variety of applications for our MaineDOT business clients and represent our C.A.R.E. values in all that they do.  At MaineIT we:

This is advanced technical services work involving the analysis, design, development, and implementation of diverse, application systems.  Responsibilities include system development, designing systems and/or enhancements to existing systems, debugging, documenting, and maintenance of multiple systems. Tasks will involve analysis, requirements gathering, and technical program design assignments. Some small project manager assignments will also be assigned. 



As a senior developer/technical lead, you will have an opportunity to have fun, learn and develop new skills while working with a highly talented and dedicated team of software developers and key stakeholders at MaineDOT.  You will be performing analyze on issues and will design solutions which will result in projects of various sizes.  You will be part of the technical team making the needed modifications and then implementing those modifications to the production applications.  You will have the opportunity to add your experience and expertise in a collaborative working environment. Work is performed under limited supervision. This position is a hybrid remote/onsite position. The onsite location is in Augusta, Maine.


Hybrid Work Opportunity – The employee in this position currently has the opportunity to work from home as much as 90% of the time.



Your job as a Systems Analyst will have responsibility for supporting MaineDOT Financial system (Free2000), as well as other MaineDOT applications.  Use your problem-solving skills to trouble shoot issues and extend our coding frameworks.  Work may include assignments using the following:


Work will involve frequent communications with our Business Clients, Project Leaders, Software Vendors, and other Technical Staff.  

Preference will be given to candidates who display a high-level skill set in the following areas: Teamwork, strong oral and written Communication, Customer Service, Problem Solving, gathering business requirements, Agile development methodology, Oracle/PL-SQL skills, and Financial/ Transportation Systems.



To qualify, a four (4) year combination of higher level programming and or systems analysis and design experience.  A Master’s Degree from an accredited educational institution in Computer Science may be substituted for two (2) years of programming experience.

JOB CLASS CODE: 0867 POSITION: 025000101 PAY GRADE: 27 - ($61,297.60 - $82,867.20/yr.)*

   *Includes a 15% recruitment and retention salary adjustment. In addition to the above base salary this position is eligible for a training bonus applied for the duration of employment in this position.
